Tips en best practices
- In the US, 18–20% is a common tip on the pre-tax subtotal; the slider defaults reflect that range.
- Switch to "post-tax" if you prefer tipping on the total — the tip amount goes up by the tax-rate factor.
- Splitting unevenly? Calculate the total per-person amount, then adjust manually for the heavy eaters.
- In tip-included jurisdictions (much of Europe / Japan), the tip slider only needs the rounding-up feature.
